A Rear Admirals’ Vice is A Vice Admiral in his Rear!

Like Nelson said to Hardy “kiss me Hardy” and Hardy replied “kiss ya be fucked Horatio I’m next in line for Admiral”

The only things that Captain McCain and I have in common are that we both sailed through more water than the average shark, in the Grey Funnel Line, in roughly the same era except for the fact that he made more of a career out of it than me. We served in the same waters at the time of the Vietnam War. We both probably sailed past more lighthouses than the average Chucky Six Pack has seen shithouses and both probably saw more Action Stations than Barbie Six Pack has seen railway stations. He was a “Birdie” and I was an electrician. We were of course in different Navies, he in The USN and me in the RAN. Now days the life of a sailor is considered as the ships being made of steel, the men made of wood, and it is all Wine, Women and Song, but way back then the ships were made of wood, the men of steel, and it was Rum, Bum and Gramophone Records.

(disclaimer ; without the bum)

Macca had a lot to live up to as his Father and his Grandfather were Four Star Admirals. The only step above Admiral in the USN is Fleet Admiral (the big Boss). His boss of course is the C.I.C. (Commander in Chief).

Young Macca no doubt had burning ambitions to be the equal of or go one step better than his Pop or Pop Pop.

He joined the Naval Academy and in 1958 graduated as an Ensign at number 894 of 899 graduates. Not exactly top of the class! He subsequently went into training and became a Birdie. His ability to crash planes and play up left a lot to be desired and one wonders if the records of his Poppys had some influence on his not being severely disciplined which may have ultimately affected his chances of promotion. When one reads his records, he has had some bailouts over the years, but his most important bail out was on 26 October 1967 when he was shot down over North Vietnam and became a POW. He was released on March 14th 1973. He had the ranking of Lieutenant Commander at the time. There would have been little chance of him receiving any promotions as a POW and this would have severely stalled his desire to make Admiral. He was given different assignments in US Naval Bases and after having only reached the rank of Captain resigned from the Navy on April 1st 1981. (April fool)

At this point in his life he most probably would have been an honest and upstanding member of the community. He subsequently decided on a political career and was elected to the House in 1982 and the Senate in 1986.

Over the period of the next 26 years he developed an uncanny knack of becoming involved with lots of the more shady characters that have graced the US political stables and the only way he was going to surpass his Poppys’ Admiral Status was to become C.I.C. He ran against the Imbecile for POTUS in 2000 and failed after he was swift boated USS Enterprised by the Imbeciles Neo Cons.

Prodloužená a občas bolestivá erekce – k té dochází místě vzácně. Přístup k těmto datům mají pouze proškolení zaměstnanci.

The downward spiral of the now Ancient Mariner with a whole flock of Albatrosses hanging round his neck gathered pace even quicker over the next eight years. He now has the GOP nomination for POTUS election in a few days time and this ex Upstanding Naval Officer has morphed into the exact opposite of what he once was and no amount of lies, deception and self flagellation is going to get him over the line on Nov 4th (US time). His Political record of voting with the Imbecile, the Keating five and his record on Veterans Affairs votes leaves only one solution …

Having never made the rank of Admiral he would never stand triumphantly on a “Bridge” to anywhere whilst one of the stinking rotting albatrosses, hanging round his neck, is his running mate in charge of a partially built “bridge” to nowhere

He should be Courts Martialled, found guilty, keel hauled, demoted, shackled to an oar on a Galley, and sent in search of the “Santa Maria”. When he finds it he can duly tell Chris C the lie that he was a USN Rear Admiral and bend over for him.

From a jolly Jack Tar to Jack Tarred. What a miserable shell of a man!

A gentle reminder to Cindy McCain that if she wants to get involved in bashing BO then she also better be ready for return of serve. Even though she looks like a fresh faced lady she has not got exacty what you call clean skin!

Oct. 18, 1999 | PHOENIX — GOP presidential candidate John McCain’s wife Cindy took to the airwaves last week, recounting for Jane Pauley (on “Dateline”) and Diane Sawyer (on “Good Morning America”) the tale of her one-time addiction to Percocet and Vicodin, and the fact that she stole the drugs from her own non-profit medical relief organization.

Permission to step ashore please Sir?

Well Gaffy, I just finished watching Media watch and I despair of anything in the MSM getting better anytime soon.

Adding insult to injury. I’ve just heard that this year’s Andrew Ollie lecture will be presented by none other than that prince of the small screen………Ray Martin!!! 🙁

Ecky.
There’s something about a Baroness……..that just brings out the inner Bill Ayres in me.

Ha!
doesn’t this just say it all…
Addressing several dozen volunteers at his campaign headquarters outside Washington, McCain promised…”
Geezus. Obama can’t ‘go the the bathroom’ without a cast of thousands..
😈

Fact-Checking the Ayers Allegations: So Wrong, It’s “Pants on Fire” Wrong.

For most of the election, Sen. John McCain ’s campaign has been somewhat subtle about trying to tie Sen. Barack Obama to the former ‘60s radical William Ayers.

No longer. A 90-second Web ad released Oct. 8, 2008, features sinister music, side-by-side photographs of Obama and Ayers, and a series of dubious allegations about their past connections, including this one:

“Ayers and Obama ran a radical education foundation together.”

http://www.cqpolitics.com/wmspage.cfm?docID=news-000002974214

Not sure if anyone has posted this, but it definitely wins the Understatement of The Week award in my book…

We’re a couple points down, OK, nationally, but we’re right in this game,” McCain said to cheers. “The economy has hurt us a little bit in the last week or two, but in the last few days we’ve seen it come back up because they want experience, they want knowledge and they want vision. We’ll give that to America.”

OK – last one for the day…
Sarah outdoes herself.

“Help me, Ohio, to help put John McCain in the White House,” she said. “He understands. He understands you. We understand how important it is that this team be elected. For one thing, we know who the bad guys are, OK?”

That statement elicited scattered shouts of “Obama!” throughout the crowd.

“We know that in the war, it’s terrorists, terrorists who hate America and her allies and would seek to destroy us, and the bad guys are those who would support and sympathize with the terrorists,” she said. “They do not like America because of what we stand for. Liberty. Freedom. Equal rights. Those who sympathize and support those terrorists who would seek to destroy all that it is that we value, those are the bad guys, OK?”

Oh FFS.

The MSM is full of expectation that McLame will come out with all guns blazing on Wednesday night(Thursday afternoon our time).
Gee, maybe McCain will self-combust live on TV LOL

Chris B at 405 it continues to astound me that McCain-Palin put out stuff that is patently false and easily shown to be so. Now I know that the voters are gullible (they who voted in GWB twice) but the media seems to be all over the Repug campaigns negative strategy and mistruths so why give them more fodder?? The answer is that they must be really really desparate and have absolutely nothing left to offer.

And whats with the McCain campaign ANNOUNCING every move like pulling out of states, trying to shift focus from economy, etc etc?? Why would you do that, and why preempt a big economic announcement today unless you were absolutely sure there was won. Are these guys seriously trying to lose, or what??

McCain’s two biggest stuff ups so far have been:
1. Selection of Palin as running mate
2. The stunt of the phony suspension of his campaign/failed attempt to grandstand and involve himself in the financial crisis
I wonder what’s next? Maybe letting the redneck/racist dog off the leash?

413 Catrina Thanks Catrina, I think I have already posted it earlier from a different paper.
Cheers.

McCain in Trouble with Latinos

McCain’s relationship with the Latino community has been poisoned by the anti-immigrant Tancredo wing of the Republican party, but also by McCain himself. When he coauthored the McCain-Kennedy immigration bill, which would have provided a path to citizenship for 12 million illegals, many of them Latinos, he was cheered by the Latino community. For a while it looked like he could have gotten more than the 40% of the Latino vote that Bush got in 2004. But when he rejected his own bill and said he would veto it if Congress passed it, the Latinos bailed on him. Four key swing states–Florida, Colorado, Nevada, and New Mexico–have large Latino populations and he has developed a profound weakness there that is probably too late to repair. Earlier this year when McCain was forced to make a choice–between the Tancredos and the Latinos–he chose the Tancredos and he has now discovered that you reap what you sow.

Obama Camp’s Travel Seems a Factor In Recent Leads in Battleground States.
The Democrats Have Appeared at 95 Events, While It’s Just 55 for the Republicans.

Sen. Barack Obama, his running mate and his wife have appeared at twice as many events in swing states as their Republican counterparts, which may help explain the Democrat’s lead in many battleground-state polls.

In the five weeks since the fall campaign officially began, Sen. Obama, his wife, Michelle, and vice-presidential nominee Joe Biden have appeared at a total of 95 separate events in states that both sides are contesting.

Sen. John McCain and his running mate, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, have appeared at 55 events in those areas, with Cindy McCain, the nominee’s wife, adding only one more to the total, according to a Wall Street Journal tally based on schedules provided by the campaigns.

The old man has to be in bed by 8 o’clock.

Discontent Buffets the Nation; Bush Craters, Obama Benefits.

A tornado of economic discontent is buffeting the nation, sending satisfaction with the country’s direction to a 35-year low, George W. Bush’s approval rating below Richard Nixon’s worst – and Barack Obama, boosted by economic empathy, to his best-yet advantage in the presidential race.
Given the global economic crisis, a record 90 percent of registered voters say the country is seriously off on the wrong track, the most since this question first was asked in 1973. At 23 percent, Bush’s job approval rating has fallen below Nixon’s lowest; it’s a point away from the lowest in 70 years of polling, set by Harry Truman in early 1952. Bush’s disapproval, meanwhile, is at an all-time record – 73 percent.

I REALLY, REALLY, LIKE THIS BIT.
Though every race is different, no presidential candidate has come back from an October deficit this large in pre-election polls dating to 1936.

Dedicated to the Three Amigos. 😆 😆 😆

Hello again.

I haven’t read all the posts – presumably you’ve all seen the footage of McCain trying to rationalise with his core repub audience that Obama is neither an Arab nor a terrorist. Some people are commenting it was the decent thing to do, but juxtaposed with Palin continuing her incendiary attacks on Obama, I can only conclude that McCainis an opportunist. He’s happy to play it both ways.
Media here is saturated with comments on the potential influence of the race factor. Don”t you just love how the media can’t bring itslef to say the word “racism, instead they’re all talking about “the Bradley Effect”. I really haven’t heard any incisive analysis, so I don’t have any great insight for you. But Palin’s current stump speech has brought about a real focus on racism here.
In the subway station on the weekend I saw Obamas face grace the front of at least 6 magazines, including Time. McCain magazine covers = zero. OK – it”s not a gauge of much, but how much more interesting the Obama story is, and perhaps that he’s more photogenic.
See ya.

Krugman winning the Nobel Prize for economics is ironic timing, since he’s been one of the most trenchant critics of Bush’s economic policies.

More good stuff for the kid.

Latest Survey USA poll for Missouri has Obama at an 8-point lead (?!?!):

Obama 51
McCain 43

I concur with some other posters on 538.com who have commented on this poll… if this is replicated in other polls, then McCain is well and truly toast on the grand scale.

And this comment in a post from ‘Voice Of The Midwest’ at 538.com:

The Arizona Republic commissioned a second, updated poll with Arizona State University of Arizona voters that was supposed to be published this past weekend. It appears the results were not published as scheduled.

When pressed, their editorial board said they will be combining polls for update next Sunday.

Why not publish the results and follow up with a second poll next week? Here is why:

1008 LV with a weighting of 1.02. McCain 48, Obama 45.5…+/-3 MOE.

…in Arizona.

The Republic has had a love/like history with McCain. They are sensative to not ticking him off since they did some crude cartoons about Cindy McCain’s addiction to prescription drugs.

They will do the second poll and if things do not change to McCain’s favor, they have a tough decision to make in running the results.

It is nice to have friends at AP.

Hi KatieLou – yep we’re onto tyhe McCain ‘settle down now, we don’t wanrt to be seen as the R-word” tactic, having happily unleashed the beast for the past week and lettting Sarah go for it with the ‘terrorist’ implications.
scum.
Glad to hear the yanks are onto it.

as for Obi being more more photogenic: he looks positively presidential these days!
Have fun..

I may not have heard this correctly, but I thought Malcolm Turnbull just said President Obama on the AM show this morning.

Morning all.
Gosh darn it jen @428
Those Fairfax journos are right on the ball ain’t they?
Especially since SNL has denied they’re having the hockey mum on the program. 🙂

Still, I suppose we should be grateful that they’re not complaining that Hilary isn’t sill in the race.

Missouri: Wow!
Arizona: WTF
If McTosser can’t win his home state, I’ll be really laughing my arse off!

Hey Progressive – shades of JWH losing Bennalong 😆 😆 😆
ah .. the poetic justice of it all.
btw- what happens in the US if the candidate doesn’t win his own state??

Jen at 406. Huffpost refers to an ABC poll showing McCain trailing Obama by 10 points and commenting, “We’ve got them just where we want them.” LOL!

Maybe he’s auditioning for a gig on SNL.

Everyone’s favorite author Christopher Hitchens 🙂
On issues vs character.

On “the issues” in these closing weeks, there really isn’t a very sharp or highly noticeable distinction to be made between the two nominees, and their “debates” have been cramped and boring affairs as a result. But the difference in character and temperament has become plainer by the day, and there is no decent way of avoiding the fact. Last week’s so-called town-hall event showed Sen. John McCain to be someone suffering from an increasingly obvious and embarrassing deficit, both cognitive and physical. And the only public events that have so far featured his absurd choice of running mate have shown her to be a deceiving and unscrupulous woman utterly unversed in any of the needful political discourses but easily trained to utter preposterous lies and to appeal to the basest element of her audience.

http://www.slate.com/id/2202163/

Jen, there would be no ‘official’ effect besides losing even more EVs, McCain would remain a senator. His next Senate re-election bid is in 2010.

It would be a additional kick-in-the-teeth for him though.

Last night on Wall St, the Dow Jones Industrial Average jumped 936.42 points or 11.08 per cent to 9,387.61, breaking an eight-session losing streak. That is the Dow’s largest one day percentage increase since 1933.

Obama Advances in Iowa, Oregon Polls.

Barack Obama has increased his lead in Iowa and Oregon polls, according to the latest averages from Forbes affiliate Real Clear Politics, and his margin over John McCain in national polls has also increased.

In Oregon, a state that Kerry won by 3.9 percentage points, a new Rasmussen poll has brought Obama’s average lead to 11.5 points. On average, Obama polls at 52.3% in Oregon to McCain’s 40.8%.

http://blogs.forbes.com/trailwatch/2008/10/obama-advances.html

Well Paddy – Obama is indeed blessed to have the nod from the great Mr Hitchens. Must be a great relief to him. 🙄
He will have Adam Carr supporting him soon .

Jen: Adam Carr will argue Obama hasn’t done well enough, Hillary would have won all 51 states.

Cool Obama turns the heat up on rival.

Constant parallels are drawn between today’s financial meltdown and the Great Depression of the 1930s. Barack Obama, who some point out is the clearest beneficiary of today’s crisis, takes that parallel a stage further.

In every speech, the Democratic presidential candidate makes sure to quote Franklin D. Roosevelt, elected president in 1932, who said: “The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.”

Prog
According to surveys done world wide and in the US it is not unreasonable to assume that if there are 800 politicians in both houses of the US Government then 200 of them are having a root out of school. Only the odd one here and there is dumb enough to get caught:

Other authors say that between 20% and 25% Americans had sex with someone other than their spouse[4].

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Extramarital_sex

Sorry but I cant see it… I can see the thingo about Tina Fey/Palin but cant find anything about monkey man

Prog, if Macca lost Arizona it would be sweet revenge for Gore’s home state loss. Would it not?

Ah, excellent thanks.. Yesterday the two vids combined had about 65000 hits, today it’s around 270000! 🙂

Love that internet 🙂

Mornin’ All, E-Day minus 21 and all’s well.

OBAMA, Barack 1.11
MCCAIN, John 6.00

KatieLou, your observations about the number of mags which Obi’s dial adorns chimes in nicely with the 15 or so editorial endorsements he received yesterday from newspapers all over the land. Interesting you note the high-powered media hullabaloo about the Bradley Effect with narry a printed mention of the R-word. Must be because increasing numbers of Americans are paying more attention to who their best friends are in 2008. Seems at long last the times really are a-changin’.

http://www.fivethirtyeight.com/2008/10/if-bradley-effect-is-gone-what-happened.html

At his 2009 inauguration Obama will have an opportunity unprecedented in modern U.S. History to reach out to the hardcore racial bigots and re-ignite some of the nobler aspects of Truth, Justice and the American way.

What next?! Ex-Virginia Senator, George “Macaca” Allen, opening and funding a shelter in Richmond, VA for homeless Blues musicians?

McCains biggest problem now is TURNOUT. With an Obama win seen by many as a foregone conculsion, many repugs will not bother turning up. Dems are energised and wary of electoral shenanigans so will show up in droves

Consider this:

Of the 10 fattest states, nine show strong support for the Republican nominee, John McCain, with only Michigan – once considered a battleground state, but recently abandoned by McCain’s campaign – as the exception.

Of the 10 least obese and overweight states, eight support the Democratic nominee, Barack Obama, although Colorado, where Obama is ahead by four points, is still considered a toss-up. The exceptions are the conservative mountain states of Utah and Montana.

So if the lardarses are prone to laziness then maybe they are less inclined to get off their ample behinds and go and vote, especially if the weather is bad, or they have to pass a MacDonalds!

Macca could lose a quite a few votes to the inertia of lard! LOL

Kirribilli Removals @ 424

Krugman winning the Nobel Prize for economics is ironic timing, since he’s been one of the most trenchant critics of Bush’s economic policies.

Hehe KR you’ll like this 🙂 particularly the last line

While he has few kind words for the Bush administration, Krugman is even more sceptical of the Republican presidential candidate in the current US election campaign, John McCain.

In a recent column he stated that Democrat rival Barack Obama was “wrong to suggest that a McCain-Palin administration would just be a continuation of Bush-Cheney. If the way John McCain and Sarah Palin are campaigning is any indication, it would be much, much worse.”

http://business.theage.com.au/business/bush-critic-krugman-wins-nobel-prize-20081014-501g.html

yeah, Spammy, Krugman’s even called McCain dangerous in one recent OpEd.

That Obama is a broth of a boy, isn’t he just?

The Man Behind the Whispers About Obama

He is a law school graduate, but his admission to the Illinois bar was blocked in the 1970s after a psychiatric finding of “moderately severe character defect manifested by well-documented ideation with a paranoid flavor and a grandiose character.”
Until this month, the man who is widely credited with starting the cyberwhisper campaign that still dogs Mr. Obama was a secondary character in news reports, with deep explorations of his background largely confined to liberal blogs.

But an appearance in a documentary-style program on the Fox News Channel watched by three million people last week thrust the man, Andy Martin, and his past into the foreground. The program allowed Mr. Martin to assert falsely and without challenge that Mr. Obama had once trained to overthrow the government.

Questions that Should Be Asked of McCain at Wednesday’s Debate:

The most important purpose of our national news media is to report, clarify and explain issues that have the potential to affect the lives of the American people. Especially in the days, weeks and months preceding a Presidential election, the press should hold the candidates to account for misleading voters with respect to the major issues of the day. Since John McCain has repeatedly misled our country’s voters on so many issues, it is especially important that they confront him with his lies and mis-statements, and give him a chance to explain them.

But do not do a trapezescrotum waiting for them to be asked. And just in case they are asked do not expect a proper answer.

http://journals.democraticunderground.com/Time%20for%20change/371

Spam Box at 463, the lines “wrong to suggest that a McCain-Palin administration would just be a continuation of Bush-Cheney. If the way John McCain and Sarah Palin are campaigning is any indication, it would be much, much worse.” are great and should be used by the Obama campaign

Meanwhile Tina Fey (the REAL star of the Repug campaign) has proclaimed that if Palin wins she’s leaving Earth!!

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/10/13/tina-fey-on-sarah-palin-i_n_134188.html

Gaffhook, that’s a great list of questions. I would like Obama to ask why McCain has run a dirty campaign when he ralised against GWB’s primary campaign against him. He should say something like “I thought more of you John, youve changed…”

Annoying that RCP switched to using Gallup’s likely voter ratings. If they had not, today would have been a record lead in those averages. But Obama has reached 50 per cent for the first time in the RCP averages.

Gallup also (according to my rough calculations) had its best day for Obama in the last two weeks.

On the other hand, Rasmussen had its worst day for Obama over that same period. Hotline and Zogby, for what they are worth (which is not that much, imo) also had their worst day for Obama over that period.

DailyKos had an above average day for Obama, however.

I am not doing Battle because, frankly, they are too much trouble. Their polling is over four days, not three, and the likelihood of me being wrong blows out considerably.

Note that none of this should be taken too seriously as my calculations are very rough indeed (although I am very confident of their accuracy for Gallup, as their consistency has been confirmed twice by comments made on the Gallup site about their polling.)

Great to see you again, Grace!

Thanks, SpamBo, it’s close to me fave Bors cartoon so far. Each caption fair dripping with contempt and ridicule for bigots American.

There’s no one as Irish as Barack O’Bama

But Barack’s as Irish as our own JFK

He’s as Irish as any from the Lakes of Killarney
His mam’s from a long line of great Irish Mamma’s

He’s as Irish as bacon and cabbage and stew
He’s Hawaiian; he’s Kenyan; American too.
And if he succeeds and he has a chance
I’m sure that our Barack will do Riverdance

He looks after his own, a true son of St. Patrick
He chose as his mate, Joe Biden, a Cat’lick,
Proddies, Jews, Muslims, even the Dalai Lama
Know there’s no one as Irish as Barack O’Bama.

Our Barack’s a hero, I’ve heard them say
Fenian to Kenyan, the American Way
He’s Cuchulainn, Liongo, not Vishnu or Brahma
But there’s no one as Irish as Barack O’Bama

Barack O’Bama’s name, you can shout it
Whether apostrophe or inverted comma
There’s no one as Irish as Barack O’Bama.

To both vomit and commit multiple homicide.

The Vanity Fair article is pretty good, too. I like the openness idea. We need financial instruments that can be explained to the average person. To do this, we need to educate. And the people we mainly need to educate are those doing the explaining.

Gary Kamiya comments about Minnie Moose’s ‘troopergate’ affair:

The GOP claims to be the party of “family values.” It turns out they meant Soprano family values.

“Where were you the day Americans elected their first coffee-coloured President and dispatched, with democracy’s cleansing flush— PNAC, BushCo, and the money-sucking, death-sucking neocons to the cesspit that is their ideological and richly deserved destiny?”

Amongst RSVPs, jen’s coming from country Vic. and Kirri and spouse are a good chance ( K’s health willing) to show from Sidernee; KatieLou’s flying in too. Local marsupial stirrer, Teh Furry One, has confirmed as a starter and will be doing a spot of live blogging for Crikey.
There are some great online air deals going at that time of the year. Just had a look at jetstar and return flights from Sydney are available for ~$140 around our corroboree day.

Swear to Jah, got a real good feeling about the gathering and the day!

you’re making the Brissie Obama party sound more fun every day. pissed that my circumstances give me no chance of attending…but will be having a crownie in celebration along with the rest of you.

paddy and kirri were talking about vomit inducing photos earlier. check out the photo on the 538 front page of the wingnut from Ohio.

he is so stupid that you might think he is a plant to make McCain look bad but he radiates the dimness of a true wingnut.

Yes, Ferny, apologised at 471, but will withdraw my comments unreservedly(remove from thread) if anyone objects.
By way of special pleading, have recently been to see “In Bruges” which contained a scene with American tourists who were full and frank with respect of their morphology when insulted by an insensitive working class Irish hit-person.

What do people think of Rudd’s economic restoration package? In disclosure mode, I’ll probably get something from it (although if Chris B wins the bet then he will benefit instead … ;)). Setting that aside, I think that it looks pretty good (apart from the first homebuyers grant – while I could benefit from that if I chose, I think that those kinds of grants are bad public policy).

It looks to me as though it will pretty much ensure that we do not get a recession (or at least not a bad or long one) and allows the Reserve Bank time to consider whether or not another interest rate cut is a good idea. This will enable inflation to be dealt with if it becomes a problem again.

Good policy and good politics, it seems to me – a very unusual combination.

Oh, and to confirm people’s suspicions about my right-wing leanings, I am voting Green but preferencing the Liberals at the ACT election this weekend. One particular policy, school closures, and the Liberal promise to reverse it, has cost Labor two votes this time around. I do not think too much of the local Liberals – they are a bit of a joke, to be honest – but a message needs to be sent re this particular policy, imo.

Ah Ecky,
Living down here, in the darkest and deepest part of the forest in South Gippsland Vic.
I’m barely able to survive on a stale crust of moldy bread and the odd gulp of rusty water.

My “ever so humble” shanty of iron and cardboard, leaks like a sieve and is filled with wild
furry animals that make our psephological possum look positively tame.
(I’ve even christened the vicious wombat that resides under the floorboards……Sarah.)

So alas, despite the best efforts of our sainted Kevin and the red fox Julia to drown us pensioners with money, I’m afraid I’ll just have to watch the proceedings on my clockwork computer and hopefully join in via teh intertubes.

I’m still not sure how much I’ll benefit personally
(I’m on a single disability pension) but it does seem a fairly quick and dirty way to inject a solid dose of cash into the real economy
pre-xmas.
Heh heh, I know this little piggy won’t be putting it into the stockmarket. 🙂

Paddy @ 497
I think single disability pensioners are up for $1000!, or I hope so.
South Gippsland is OK, but as Horace Greely didn’t say..”Go East young man”.. specially if ypu’re a hillbilly at heart.

497 paddy I’m originally from Maffra. Gippslander is from Metung (which I know very well).
